I had a great time in 29 Palms this weekend for their 3rd book festival. It was more of a desert and Native-themed event, which makes sense. Either way, I got to meet some very cool folks who were enthusiastic about the BAG OF TRICKS Trilogy, and I picked up a few books I’m excited to read too 🙂
I had a couple of exciting visits with some old pals: Tom Ingram stopped by for a while on Saturday, and we talked about each of our new endeavors. I’m very excited for what he’s got in the works, y’all! And our old Dionysus Records jefe Lee Joseph came by to hang out on Sunday. It was so good to see both of these gents in a different atmosphere than where I’m used to seeing them in the music scene.
The only drawback from this weekend is that I had to go to the emergency room on Saturday night around midnight. I’ve been hacking a lot and thought it was just allergies, but it got worse, so off I went. Turns out I have bronchitis and a ‘touch of pneumonia’, whatever that means. I got great treatment at the Joshua Tree Hospital, and they sent me on my way. I’m already feeling much better, and should be in fine form for my reading at Camino Books in Del Mar on Wednesday!
