I’m so excited by this and hope it really happens 🙂 While at the 29 Palms Book Fair, I met the amazingly talented writers and artists from Wimmen’s Comix- which I just happen to have #s 2 and 3 here at home. These ladies are Teresa Richards, Lee Marrs, Caryn Leschen and Sharon Rudhal.

I have long been inspired by their early-on intent to create art as women at a time when the comic book field was so heavily run by men (sadly, it still is, but these ladies were at the forefront of ploughing through all that). Their stories and art weren’t necessarily feminist- just stories by women from a women’s POV, which I appreciate 🙂

Anyway, I thanked them and started chatting with them after their panel, and they invited me to contribute to their new publication that they are working on now!

I have begun to write a few comic book stories- both from my years in San Francisco. It has been fun figuring out how to write out the scene, the dialogue, the captions, panel by panel. I’ve asked a few friends who are comic artists for some guidance, and it seems I’m doing it right. So… wheeeee!!

Hopefully they really call 🙂
