Hey friends! Some folks have been asking me about why I chose to have some of the characters in Bag of Tricks be so prejudiced, so I’m here to set the record straight 🙂 The prejudices of these characters in no way reflects my own feelings and thoughts on anyone- be they lesbian, gay, black, brown, or anything.

As I wrote these stories, some of what I remember from back in the day informed what some of my characters believed. Once you get past some of the mean-hearted or hateful earlier characters, you will find other openhearted, more open-minded characters. All part of the punk scene, all with varying beliefs and ideals.

That’s just what I remember- that there were different angles from which we all approached the world- some mean-spirited and hateful, some kind and curious, some somewhere in between. I hope no-one is triggered or put off by these characters. They’re fictional, culled from my memories of folks I knew back when. No matter who you are, as long as you’re not harming others, you’re ok in my book, truly.
