Bag of Tricks

Mixed Stories of Life as a San Francisco Punk in the early 80’s BOOK ONE OF A PUNK TRILOGY by Ruby Dee Philippa
BAG OF TRICKS is a compilation of short stories about San Francisco punks in the early 80’s.
These vignettes stand alone yet bleed into one another. Meet the band The Shits, their groupies The Clits, and an array of colourful characters who populate these streets, squats and punk shows. With them, we cop drugs, shoot up, dumpster dive, trip around The City, go to punk shows and slip between the cracks of society.
Most of the stories are true, although some of the details may or may not have happened...

Old tricks, new treats

Mixed Stories of Life as a San Francisco Punk in the early 80’s BOOK Three OF A PUNK TRILOGY by Ruby Dee Philippa
BAG OF TRICKS is a compilation of short stories about San Francisco punks in the early 80’s.
Follow the adventures of The Shits, Val, Sophie, Babs, Carla, Red, Marco, Bags and all the rest of the rag-tag gang of street punks that populate these stories. Ride with them as they hit new highs and lows, make mostly bad and occasionally good choices, and aim for uncharted lives in the end.
For everyone who shaved their head or dyed their hair funny colors in spikes and other shapes. Who wore ratty jeans with holes in them before that became a thing, and vintage clothes that still smelled like the folks who wore them before. Who panhandled for cigs and drugs and other necessities, and occupied places others had abandoned, just as they dismissed us.
